A sweet newborn baby’s photographs, with his big sis!

This poor little guy was having some tummy problems so wasn’t a happy camper! Such a sweetie, I felt so bad for him that we couldn’t wave a magic wand and make it all better.

But here is his big sis! She is almost turning 3, and we did her 2 year pictures in April 2008, so it was great to see her (and her family) again! So we did a combo 3 year/newborn/family photography session.  Here’s Little Miss Spunky herself:

And she is such a devoted big sister!  (We’ll see how much she appreciates him once he becomes mobile and knocking down her toys! ;-) )

He did really like the little knitted cocoon!

Some chubby babies in the studio

I recruited some baby models to pose for me for some experimenting with props that I wanted to do, and oh are they cute!  Love me some of that baby chub!  Filed under: baby photographer in Columbus, Ohio, baby photography, portrait studio for babies

Baby Hope

There isn’t anything more precious than a newborn baby.  Here is baby Hope, who is 2 weeks old (and not as sleepy as these pictures make her out to be. ;) But you can’t help but want to snuggle her!  Filed under: newborn photography in Columbus Ohio, photographing new born babies, baby photographer

Natalie, class of 2009

We had a freak warm week, melting the snow… but making for a not too cold outdoor excursion for Natalie’s senior pictures.  I actually really like the little snow piles on the ground, making for some interesting scenery… I will miss it when it’s gone!  Here is a little sneak peek for you guys, I had some fun with some Photoshop effects.  This photoshoot was done in downtown Westerville. Filed under: senior pictures in Columbus Ohio, senior portraits in Westerville, Ohio

Beautiful maternity sneak peek

I know, I hadn’t updated my blog since November!  I’m now back in the swing of things.  The fall just got too crazy (which is GOOD considering the crappy economy!) and with everything else, the blog just fell by the wayside for awhile, and people missed out on getting sneak peeks of their sessions.  But anyway, I’m back to the grindstone now!  Today I had a fabulous maternity photography session, and I seriously agonized over what pictures to post.  There were just so many good ones!

These guys were such naturals in front of the camera, and you can feel the love in their hearts for each other and their son… and daughters! (they’re having twins!)

My brother’s engagement pictures

My brother Donny and his fiancee Alison finally got down here to Columbus for their engagement pictures… of course now in November it’s frigid outside!  The only time we could do it was in the morning and the thermometer in the car read 25 degrees! BRRRR!!!  But I have to say, the frosty misty morning is really pretty, despite the cold.  We decided to take just enough so they’d have some to send in their Christmas cards, and then we’d visit the idea of doing a whole photography session in the spring.  They actually wanted me to set up a backdrop, but isn’t the lake a lot nicer backdrop? I think so! (yeah, they’re all posed and smiling… I like unposed, interactive, artistic… we’ll try to get those in the spring.  It’s a lot faster to just pose, shoot and go! :-)   It did warm up into the 40’s later on in the day, which felt pretty warm in comparison!! Gotta love Ohio weather.

Oh, and when they got into town, Alison said to Maylie “Guess what? Your uncle Donny and I are going to get married!”  Maylie replied, “Today, or tomorrow?” :D

New blog theme and a squishy newborn baby

What a combo! :-)

I’m trying out a new theme for my blog. One of these days I’ll figure out what theme I want to stick with and then get my blog customized with the same colors as my site.  But for now… new theme… this one has room for slightly bigger images, which is what I wanted.  Those 450 pixel images are just too tiny!

To celebrate, here are some adorable photos of a squishy newborn baby.  She was such a sweetheart.  I love being able to capture those first few days.  This little cutie was 6 days old, and she still had that newborn curl, and was sleepy, so she let me pose her.  Look at her little cheeks! I could eat them up.

I’m still here!

Yep, I’m still here. This past fall has been really crazy.  I had 2 months worth of photography crammed into one month, for the month of October, and I’m still working on catching up from that. November is quite a bit quieter (outdoor photoshoots in 30 degree weather isn’t anyone’s cup of tea!) and right now I’m doing mostly maternity & newborn photoshoots, and a few in-home family shoots (indoors with maybe 5 mins of outdoors).

So, I haven’t been posting to the blog because it’s a lot faster to just edit the whole shoot than to first deliberate which ones to post to the blog, and edit those, then go back later and finish the rest, and I need all the extra time I can get.

Here are a few fun favorites from a few of my recent sessions!

Christina & Brian’s wedding reception at Hyde Park

Wow, how time flies.  I did Christina & Brian’s engagement pictures back in May, when October seemed so far away!  They had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Jamaica, just the two of them, and then held their reception here in Columbus at Hyde Park, in the Short North.  Christina did an amazing job of planning the reception, everyone had a great time, and it went very smoothly.  (My favorites are the cake cutting pictures, I think the whole room was laughing!)  Here are the pictures!
