Aimee, class of 2010 | Columbus Ohio senior pictures

I had the pleasure of photographing Aimee for her senior pictures at 7:30 am mid-November while we still had some good weather outside.  Not many people are willing to get up early for senior pictures (and I needed my coffee), but Aimee was a trouper, and I have to say, a natural in front of the camera.

Enjoy!

Kara, class of 2010 | Columbus Ohio senior pictures

I had a real good time working with Kara and her mom over at Inniswoods for her senior pictures. In fact, I ended up with so many good ones that I’m trying to whittle down 150 pictures! She requested going to the secret garden at the park, which I’d only used once before for a session, so it was fun for me to try some different creative stuff with the “new” area. So check these out! :-)

Brenna, class of 2009 | Senior Pictures Photographer in Columbus OH

Brenna was a little bit of a straggler getting her senior pictures done since it’s almost graduation time!  We had so much fun though, she brought a lot of outfits and things for props, and we started in the studio before heading over to the Short North, ending with some nighttime images.  I’m still working on whittling them down to a reasonable number, there’s  so many good ones!
First we have “funny picture of the evening”.  This guy wasn’t the only person to ask for his picture taken (just the only person to actually pose).

This is the picture I was working on capturing when the guy showed up.  Actually there was a parked car RIGHT where I wanted to stand.  And I was just saying how I wished I could go inside the car to get the angle that I wanted.  When lo and behold, the car’s owner came to drive it away.  Hooray!

If you happened upon my blog via a search engine and are looking for a photographer in the Columbus, Ohio area, you might want to go check out my main site which is at http://www.dgnphoto.net, where I have galleries & pricing information. And as always if you have any questions or would like to book a photography session, you can give me a call at 614-323-3147.

What kind of photography do I do? I am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but I would say I am primarily a portrait photographer and the majority of my clientele are people wanting family portraits, senior pictures, maternity & newborn photos, and children & baby portraiture. And then secondly I’m a wedding photographer, and I accept a limited number of weddings per year. Occasionally I wear a pet photographer hat, and I also do corporate & acting headshots. My studio is on Oak Street in Old Town East, in Columbus, Ohio (hours available by appointment only), but I split my time there and out on location shoots (parks and urban areas are my favorite!)

Brittany’s senior pictures sneak peek

We really lucked out on the weather this past weekend!  Nice and warm outside… threatening rain but not actually raining.  And to think a week ago, it was 20 out!  So, we were able to keep with our scheduled session for Brittany’s senior pictures up in downtown Westerville, Ohio (suburb of Columbus, Ohio).  Columbus has some really awesome places for location sessions for senior pictures, and downtown Westerville, along with the Short North are a couple of my favorites.  They’re nice for this time of year when the parks are looking kind of brown and gloomy.

You can also see why I love doing senior picture sessions somewhere outside! There’s so many neat buildings and textures to add to the photos.  I get kind of bored with the same old same old backdrops in the studio.  I sure hope this weather holds up and we’re getting into spring, finally!!    filed under: senior pictures in Columbus Ohio, high school senior photographer in Columbus, Ohio and Westerville, Ohio, and Central Ohio, senior portraits

Natalie, class of 2009

We had a freak warm week, melting the snow… but making for a not too cold outdoor excursion for Natalie’s senior pictures.  I actually really like the little snow piles on the ground, making for some interesting scenery… I will miss it when it’s gone!  Here is a little sneak peek for you guys, I had some fun with some Photoshop effects.  This photoshoot was done in downtown Westerville. Filed under: senior pictures in Columbus Ohio, senior portraits in Westerville, Ohio

Lee, Class of 2009

Last Thursday, I met up with Lee and his mother over at Inniswoods (in Westerville), to shoot his senior pictures.  I have to say, he does the best Colbert face I’ve ever seen!  Here are a few favs:

Courtney’s senior pictures sneak peek

Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting beautiful Courtney’s senior pictures up at Inniswoods park in Westerville, Ohio.  She brought along her mother (who warned me that 3 kids doesn’t get any easier… uh oh) and her boyfriend, and I got to try some new areas at Inniswoods that I surprisingly haven’t done before (considering how often I am there!)

There are just so many good ones, and a lot of variety (I like variety), I had a hard time choosing just a couple for the sneak peek.  So here are just a little smattering of them:

Ashley, class of 2009 – senior pictures sneak peek

I had a session this evening with Ashley who will be a senior this next school year.  We went up to Inniswoods, which was lovely as usual.  Ashley insisted at the beginning that she was not photogenic.  I think that we proved her wrong, here!  The most memorable moment was when we were having Ashley pose at the little treehouse, and a couple guys with cameras  came by, tried to sweet talk Ashley and take pictures of her.  Unfortunately for them, she had her big sister and mom to guard her, so they went their merry ways.

Here are a few pictures for their sneak peek.  I promised a little one tonight, so here it is!

Stalk the blog winner, and a high school senior

Wow you guys are on the ball. Congrats to Heather L for being up late and catching my forgetting to post in the blog yesterday.  You win a $10 Starbucks gift card!  There’s 6 more days left until the contest ends… it’s been surprisingly hard to remember to post every day.  I think I’ll be posting frequently after the contest ends, but probably not every day. whew!

I did have some pictures I was going to post yesterday (and then I fell asleep early, while I was putting the baby to bed).  My step-mom and her daughter, Cassie (who is graduating from high school) were in town earlier this week, and I said “hey Cassie, do you like having your picture taken?” and she said, “Sometimes… why…?”  I needed a bit more diversity in my senior portfolio, so she agreed to pose for  me for a few shots.

Isn’t she pretty? Her eyes really are that blue.
