If you happened upon my blog via a search engine and are looking for a photographer in the Columbus, Ohio area, you might want to go check out my main site which is at http://www.dgnphoto.net, where I have galleries & pricing information. And as always if you have any questions or would like to book a photography session, you can give me a call at 614-323-3147.

What kind of photography do I do? I am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but I would say I am primarily a portrait photographer and the majority of my clientele are people wanting family portraits, senior pictures, maternity & newborn photos, and children & baby portraiture. And then secondly I’m a wedding photographer, and I accept a limited number of weddings per year. Occasionally I wear a pet photographer hat, and I also do corporate & acting headshots. My studio is in uptown Westerville (hours available by appointment only), in the Columbus Ohio area, but I split my time there and out on location shoots (parks and urban areas are my favorite!)

For the next 2 months, I’m doing a ’stalk the blog’ contest. I need to post once a day on the blog, and if I don’t… and someone catches me, the first person to email me with the catch will get a $10 Starbucks gift card! Hopefully I won’t miss too many, that could get expensive!

To start, I’ll begin with one of our photos from vacation. We spent a week in North Carolina (where the weather varied from 50’s to one day of 70 and another day of 80). We went to Greensboro and stayed with my aunt and uncle for Easter, and then went to Emerald Isle and stayed in their trailer on the beach for a few days before driving back.

I have to say that I am glad I will never have to take such a long drive with a baby ever again! Our drive was dictated by whether she was sleeping, and if she was awake, she was usually not pleased to be stuck in a car seat. The other two kids traveled well thanks to being separated by the minivan rows, and by the dual screen DVD player. In fact, Maylie has been asking every day since then to go on another long drive because she wants to partake in unlimited movies again.

Here is one of the photos from the trip. There was a lot of sea foam on the beach… and we thought it might be pollution at first, but then decided it’s probably natural from old books (ie. the Little Mermaid) referencing sea foam. The sunset was on the wrong side of the beach, so I got up before dawn (at a reasonable 6:30 AM) to go take pictures on the beach and off the fishing pier. I probably looked silly to the fishermen wearing my pyjamas out on the pier, but I barely dragged myself out of bed as it was!
