Little boy’s 2 year pictures

This little guy is a big fan of Bob the Tomato (from Veggie tales), and one of my tricks for getting little kids to look at the camera, is to tell them that their favorite character is inside the lens.  He was more amazed at the idea, than thinking it was funny though, and throughout the whole rest of the session, he’d call my camera “Bob da mato?”  Little kids are so cute.

Anyway, we had an enjoyable photography session over at Inniswoods.  The weather and the light was great! I couldn’t have asked for a better day, or a cuter little subject.  Here is the sneak peek! (hopefully his mom hasn’t worn out her refresh button yet ;-)

Family photo shoot at Inniswoods sneak peek

I had a busy weekend with a mass cleaning spree to get my house presentable for company, meanwhile they’re hitting ‘refresh’ and hoping for their sneak peek… well, I’ll make it worth your wait, guys… here’s 6 for your sneak peek. :)

Friday, I met up with this cute young family over at Inniswoods for their family photoshoot.  At first when I heard the ages of the kids (9 months and almost 2), I thought “oh, this is going to be a challenging shoot!” but the kids turned out to be very laid back and happy.  And we had a lot of fun doing some creative shots (which are my favorite, one of the reasons I like photographing on-location so much)

Ok now if you go back in my blog, you’ll find quite a few ’sun flare’ shots… I love sun flares, and try to grab one whenever I can.  This one is a play on the ‘couple kissing with the sun flare’ idea, with the kids on their shoulders.

I love his eyes, they’re such a pretty color blue.

This next one was actually not my idea, but theirs!  Baby in a tree… (she is actually being held from behind, so no worries of falling out of the tree!)

The light in this next picture, I thought was very captivating.  Such a warm glow.

And then we have the back/rim lighting from the sun and the interaction between dad and baby.  I thought this photo was very sweet.

If you look in the blog back a few days, you’ll see some silhouettes from a maternity session.  I am still in a silhouette mood, so I worked on another one this time.  I really like how you can see his long eyelashes (he was ‘done’, and we were headed back to the parking lot :)

Family portraits double whammy sneak peek

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of heading over to Dayton to shoot two families at once.  I set up my new high-key backdrop and lights set up indoors, and we did some in front of the backdrop, and some outside.  We got some great shots and it was loads of fun.

These guys hail from Ireland, and I thought the Irish-themed dresses were too cute!

Their little girl was just too precious for words.  So… how old are you?  Is that 3 on the head?

Or… 3!!!!

This one makes me laugh every time I see it, so I had to include it.

And then here’s a sneak peek for the other family.  These are a few of the studio lighting ones.  I’ll just start out with a funny one because I love the funny ones.

And awwww so cute.  I suggested that they hold hands to relieve his stranglehold over her head.

They are so sweet to each other!

I had a real hard time just picking a few for the sneak peek, there are so many good ones! :-)

2 year pictures… take 2 (sneak peek)

I’m a little bit behind in editing pictures, this past week has been crazy busy for me.  So for those subscribed, sorry for the mass amount of sneak peeks here, that I’m going to post.  I don’t like to spam people’s mailboxes…

Anyway, the weather smiled upon us, and after having 3 reschedules (2 for weather, one for sickness), we were able to finish our photo shoot!  Hooray!  We were starting to wonder if fate was trying to tell us something… (lol)

This little guy, what a cutie!  These are some fun ones:

I am on this sun flare kick.  And a hold kids in the air kick.  This one was just a small sun flare, just peeking a little through the trees.  I think he likes being way high up, what do you think? :)

2 year pictures sneak peek

I had another session for 2 year pictures yesterday, and the park was the perfect place for a little energetic boy to run around and have fun.

I’m posting more than my usual sneak peek, because I thought it was cute that their grandma subscribes to my blog.  So the extra pictures here are for grandma. :)

2 year pictures… take 1… (sneak peek)

So… we were originally scheduled to do these 2 year pictures last Tuesday, but it was downpouring.  So we rescheduled for Thursday, but the boy was sick and coincidentally so was I (I got a BAD cold…) so we rescheduled it for today.

On the way over to Inniswoods, I saw a few sprinkles on my car.  We stood there debating about what the weather was going to do.  It would suck to walk all the way back into the park, only to get caught in a downpour (especially for my camera equipment), and this is what we saw from the park entrance:

storm brewing at the photography session

Hmmm think that’s coming our way, or going some other way?   We had part of the session before the drops started to come, and we decided to schedule the other half for next week.  So stay tuned for more cuteness next week, but here’s the sneak peek from what we did get (at the park entrance) today.

I don’t think this kid takes a bad picture, ever… and so easy to photograph being all smiles.  Good day for him, bad day for the weather!

The last one was after she removed his white shirt so that it would stay white for next week.  But how cute is that? :-)

Family maternity photo session at the park sneak peek

Yesterday I had family / maternity combo photo session at the park for one of my friends, and her little girl has the cutest cheeks in the world.  I’ve been wanting to take some pictures of those cheeks since the first time I saw her.  (She tells me her favorite color is pink and she is hoping she gets a baby sister!)

Anyway, here are some favs from yesterday (I meant to put the sneak peek up last night, but I fell asleep while I was putting the baby to bed)

Family photographs sneak peek

I had the pleasure of photographing this family today, and the weather at Inniswoods was gorgeous.   I took a different route through the park than I usually take, in search of the illusive brick wall with a hole in it… and I still did not find it.   I’ve been to Inniswoods enough times that I should’ve found it by now, but alas…  we did see the albino squirrel, which was near the stone bridge.

These were some neat pots that I previously hadn’t seen. (the baby thought the stones were nummy)

This one I had to include in the sneak peek.  It just makes you go awwwww…

baby portrait

This last one was something I’ve had on my brain for awhile, I’ve been thinking that I wanted to photograph a family looking over the edge of the bridge.  I think they were seeing frogs down there. (if the baby could talk, I think she’d be saying ‘I see one!’)

I had a lot of good ones from this photo session, I can’t wait to show the rest!

Family portraits sneak peek

We interrupt the photo book review series to bring you a sneak peek from a family portrait session from last weekend.  This was an extended family session, up at Inniswoods park, with 13 people (5 children).  Whew!  The flowering shrubberies were gorgeous this time of year!

And then we broke out for some smaller family group photos:

The little girl was just the cutest thing ever.  I asked her if she saw the puppy dog in my camera (lens), and she thought that idea was rather amusing.

Good luck, little Makaylynn

I had the opportunity this evening to meet and photograph this amazing family.  It was kind of a last minute thing (I was called this afternoon); they wanted pictures of their little baby Makaylynn before she undergoes surgery, and the only time to do it before she’s in the hospital was tonight.  So keep little Makaylynn in your thoughts and prayers that everything will go well.

They are such a beautiful family, and it was a pleasure to photograph them.  Here is a sneak peek:
