Have you tried Creative Memories Storybooks? The binding is stitched. Not sure how Shutterfly's binding is made, but I think you would be happy with the quality.

I know that I have tried a few printing companies. The first one that I did was Shutterfly, and I have printed several books with them in several sizes. I have been pretty happy with their quality, but I have been looking for another printer. I have tried Sony's Image Station, their layout software was a lot more flexible, but that is not always a good thing. Spent too much time on the layout. The print quality was comparable, but one thing that I did/did not like was that they printed my front image on the actual cover. I liked that, but they did the same for the last page, which I was not expecting, and thus it was just a normal layout and not something that you would want for a back cover.

I found Shutterfly a lot easier to easy and the site is very easy to navigate to get information on other products or inspiration. I browsed Viovio.com and I found the site to be a bit confusing and not very inspirational. I have been incredibly impressed with the quality of Shutterfly books. I am a big fan of the 12x12 and the 8x8 photo books and there are different photo cover options now as well! If you are looking for inspiration they have developed a gallery where other people have posted their books and you can use the "make one like this" feature to use the same layout as a book you have fallen in love with. I find Shutterfly to be more of an experience than just a product. :)

I haven't yet. I haven't tried MyPublisher either (at one time when I was looking at them, their software wasn't mac compatible, now it is, but I've heard their quality can be poor so I don't think i will try them out). I'd be willing to give Viovio a shot. Blurb was also a pretty good bang for the buck, although I'd say their print quality isn't as good as Shutterfly (I'm a bit bummed that my Shutterfly books' binding is coming apart without being horribly manhandled)

Have you tried Viovio.com yet? I think their books are every bit as good as Shutterfly and a lot better than MyPublisher. And their prices blow both of those companies out of the water. The only draw back is that they don't offer fancy pre-made templates, you can either use their book maker or create your own pages (which is what I do.)
